Junk email of the dead

What does it mean if I'm on the same junk email list as a dead Toronto mayor?

Halloween, Church Street, Toronto, 2016

What a difference 17 years make. In the 90s Church Street Halloween was mostly gay men in drag. This year it was mostly Japanese  and some Chinese and Korean girls doing cosplay, so it was more like an anime convention. The costumes were a lot better in the 90s.

St. James-Bond United Church

Ian Fleming, creator of James Bond, is supposed to have stayed across the road from this church when he was at Camp X, the special operations training center in Whitby, although most sources say that the name for James Bond was taken from the author of a series of books on ornithology.
Now converted into a seniors' home.

Iris and other flowers as wall paintings, East side Toronto, early 1990s

A real iris and a decorated paint can - the signature read Mediacon 89 - I took these in the early 90s somewhere near the Upper Canada Brewery in Toronto.

Wheat Sheaf Tavern, 1994

About 1994 - downtown Toronto is still a popular location for movies and not all locals are that happy about the streets being blocked off for a shoot.

Green roof, Toronto City Hall

Toronto City economic development officer Chris Rickett shows off new 'Green Roof' at City Hall. Green roofs are required for many new structures in the city. They are plant beds that absorb rain water and reduce the amount of runoff going into sewers, reduce heat, and have flowers that help feed insects like butterflies, like the ones seen below at a butterfly garden nearby at Harbourfront:
