MPs, Human Rights campaigner push for anti-organ trafficking law.

Anastasia Lin and MPs Irwin Cotler and Garnett Genuis at screening of the movie "The Bleeding Edge", Tuesday, April 4, 2017. Genuis is trying to pass the bill introduced last session by Cotler that would make it illegal for Canadians to go abroad to buy "human organs that have been removed without donor consent or for financial gain." Lin, a former Miss World Canada, has been campaigning on behalf of Falun Gong and other political prisoners in China who are reported to have had their organs removed after execution. Lin also starred in The Bleeding Edge as one of these victims. Tory MP to revive Cotler's organ trafficking bill

Thoughts: How do you know your presenter is a former Miss Canada? Walks in four inch heels as easily as other people do sneakers. How do you know it's at Canada's parliament? Before walking through a metal detector, a man whips off his belt and puts it in the box without breaking stride.

April Fool's Postcard

Odd flying machine from the early 20th Century - this one is postmarked Farnham, which is close to Yamaska, so it probably came from the same collection as the previous postcard.

Great Grey Owl (Strix nebulosa)

Most owls are camera shy, but this one let me roll up next to it on the road to take pictures.

Yamaska Heartbreak

Desperate postcard from 111 years ago:

"Antoinette a reçu votre lettre hier soir, elle me dit que vous ne me repondrez pas maintenant. Ne me faites pas attendre trop longtemps. J'ai été très désappointé de ne pas recevoir une carte de vous hier soir, j'étais si certain d'en avoir une - j'avais hâte d'arriver à la maison, mais j'ai été déçu"

"Antoinette got your letter last evening, she tells me that you will not answer me now. Don't make me wait too long. I was really disappointed to not get a card from you last evening. I was so certain that I'd get one. I hurried home but I was disappointed." It looks like there are tear stains on it!

Postcard was mailed by a Thomas from Montreal, postmarked 5 PM, February 19, 1906 to an Antoinette in Yamaska, a small town 100 km east of Montreal. Yamaska has only about 5,000 people today, so I blanked out her family name!
The picture is of  Couchiching Beach Park, in Orillia, Ontario, which I have visited.
