Akwesasne Powwow 2013

Dancers and a flint tool making demonstration, Akwesasne Powwow 2013. This is an annual event held on the first weekend after Labour Day. What the dancers are wearing should be called Regalia and not costumes - also, some of the dances like the Grand Entry should not be recorded - the Master of Ceremonies will tell you.

Flint tools - Akwesasne is a Mohawk reserve - Mohawks are called "People of the flint" in their own language - flint was an important material for making things like arrow heads, knives and other cutting tools.
