No instafreeze at -24 C

It's nearly -24 C and no, boiling water doesn't really instantly freeze - it just makes a lot of fog but it's still liquid when it hits the ground.

Gravitational waves seem to have been detected!: Economist article Guardian

In 1987 I used to talk with someone at on Bitnet (the forerunner of the Internet) who was running an experiment to detect gravitational waves at CERN using a block of metal kept at close to absolute zero - probably looked something like this:

Shoe Tree of Alexandria, Ontario, loses shoes - local government removed most recently saying they were a hazard - still some in the really high branches about 50 feet up!
