Still very smoky outside - yesterday Montreal was on the news because it had the worst air quality for a city in the world!

Smoke fills the St. Lawrence from forest fires in Quebec. Burning feeling in eyes and throat.

Post apocalyptic gas station

Driving out of Perth, Ontario, I was thinking of the end of the world and how most likely the sun will expand into a red giant that would engulf the world. The sun was setting and I saw this abandoned gas station, with a Coca-Cola cooler and a basketball hoop the employees must have used when business was slow. This is what we'll leave behind.

 

Historical recreation of UK 8th Army Desert World War II

Guy walking down sidewalk in Smith Falls, in WWII British army desert kit. He and his friend are historical recreators. A few hours later I was in a store a couple of block away and saw a Dragon Models 6390 1/35 British 8th Army Infantry El Alamein '42 kit in a store.

45 History

 I found some 45s at a thrift store - the labels told an interesting story - some of them had names made by label makers stuck on and one had what seem to be the autographs of two DJs from CKGM Montreal, which was a top 40s format AM station in the 70s. Rockland Shopping Centre is in Mount-Royal. I'd imaging the station had a promotion there on May 19, 1972! Shirley Théroux is still working as a musician and entertainer. "Put Your Hand In The Hand" was a gospel rock  hit in the early 70s. Yorkville was the hip part of Toronto in the 60s and early 70s. If you were in a family ( or had room mates) you wrote your name on your records to keep them from getting mixed up.

Guineafowl

Guineafowl (spelling varies) on side of road in Glen Walter, Ontario. People keep them as pets because they eat the ticks that carry Lyme disease.  Numida meleagris , Pintade domestique
 

Yellow Red sunlight

Forest fires in Quebec made the sunlight reddish-orange. Air quality was bad and should have put my N95 on.
